I’m a true lover of style… not fashion but style. I love to see a woman show off her personality while rocking her unique look. You know, there is nothing like a confident woman. We must learn to accept the things we cannot change. No matter what comes or goes.. you are somebody and we have to remember to be confident.
Portraying confidence while representing your style… now that’s STYLISH!
It’s amazing how style has opened so many doors for me. I introduced the SaseeChic T-Shirt Collection a couple of months back and, I’m truly grateful for the love and support you all have shown me and my business. Now, to see the next phase come to life is just wonderful.
The SaseeChic Boutique is definitely a dream come true. I’m excited to be able to provide the “everyday woman” with stylish yet affordable clothing.

Do you remember the “Plus is Equal” campaign? Lane Bryant launched this collection in fall of 2015. The world went crazy! Was America finally accepting plus size? Looking back on it…I’m not quite sold on it all. I’ll admit the “plus is equal” movement officially put us plus size girls on the map. I felt as if we were ultimately accepted for being “us”… not just a plus sized or being a fat girl. I always wondered if this was simply a craze for the moment or, if plus sized women would begin to see fashion or style as just that. …not, just what I can find in my size and deal with it. As we enter into 2017, has body positivity made a change or, are we simply back at square one?
There’s the saying, “get in formation”, “slay”, “girlboss”, and we cannot forget the most famous one of them all, “DIVA”… but, does your confidence scream these things? We often talk the talk but do we actually walk it. Are you comfortable in your skin? Ladies, this is definitely something to think about.
Being comfortable shows that you are at ease… you are relaxed. Your style should show your confidence in the selection process. Your posture is relaxed and upright. You are comfortable being YOU! As we settle into 2017, let’s practice relaxation and being pleasant in our skin. This not only demonstrates our uniqueness it brings out your character as well.
Body Positivity: accepting the body you have as well as the changes in shape, size, and ability it may undergo due to nature, age, or your own personal choices throughout your lifetime. This is truly being comfortable in your skin. You must learn to first accept things you cannot change. Be grateful for life… know you are blessed!
Ladies, you are beautiful at any age… and, at any size. This year, we must focus on confidence and boosting self-esteem. Our personality is depending on it.
Remember… Be Confident, Be Unique, and Be YOU! …and, we never make any apologies for it.
It’s interesting how style can be demonstrated so many different ways. An individuals personality can be portrayed so beautifully through their look.. Now… it’s important to be both confident and sure of yourself.
Why is this? Well, defining your style is crucial to the outcome of how YOU really are. It’s a necessity to be true to yourself… be genuine.
I love playing with my look. I’m sure you are well aware of my type of style. Sassy yet Chic…. it’s my thing! Whenever I get a chance to play with my look it gives me the opportunity to test both my confidence and personality.
Yep! I decided to test my style with Cowgirl Boots. LOL!
If you really know me… and, I mean really know me…. I’m more of a high heel/pump kinda girl with a twist of flats. Too funny!! LOL! So, this is definitely stepping out of my comfort zone and exploring my style.
Yes… I’m a lady in her cowgirl boots and proud of it. It’s ok to test the boundaries and try something new. You will be surprised at what you discover.

There’s something about a woman with confidence…. I know firsthand that it’s such a humbling experience. It puts you in a position to let your personality shine through. …and, once you have completely defined your style… well, as I always say, the rest is history!
Now, we hear the word CONFIDENCE quite often but, what does it really mean and how does it pertain to YOU?
Confidence is your Uniqueness! It defines who YOU really are… it’s what makes you… YOU! With this being said… you must come to realize that it’s ok to be different. Yes… I said it… Different. It means stepping out of your comfort zone slightly to bring out your sexy. Listen ladies, I know this can be difficult but trust me it will all payoff. Yes, confidence is just that good!
I too have been working on my confidence through style. …and, I must say I’ve fallen in love with eShakti. Let me tell you a thing or two about love. Girl, when you find it there’s no doubt… you know it’s the one! Yes, this fall dress is definitely it.
eShakti is a brand where women can purchase both custom and ready to wear items. What’s awesome about this company is that you can select your preferred neckline, style of sleeve, and length of the garment. How cool is that? What’s interesting is that most designs come with pockets. Now, I must admit that I do love dresses with pockets but, if it’s not your thing you have the option to remove them. Yes, your garments… Your rules… Your style!
You too can fall in love with eShakti. For a limited time, you can take an extra 10% off your entire purchase at eShakti using discount code SASEECHIC. This code is valid from 10/27/2016 – 11/29/2016.
Remember your style is a representation of YOU. It’s important to Be Confident… Be Unique… Be YOU! … and, never make any apologizes for it. #SaseeChic
A few weeks ago, I challenged you all to take a “risk” with your style. I wanted everyone to step outside their normal routine and try something different. As stated in my previous blog… change is good and much needed. Taking risks are difficult and sometimes a hard task to accomplish …but, with a little patience and diligence you can move towards defining your unique style. You will have defeated your fears of stepping out and being different through style.
I decided to challenge myself to wearing more bold colors. I love being stylish, yet, it’s usually more on a conservative chic level… if that make sense. LOL!!! Making a statement with style screams confidence which ultimately requires risk.
Neutral colors are considered safe and it’s appropriate for any occasion. You have to put in some time and effort to step out with something bold. I know firsthand how uncomfortable this could be. That’s why it’s so crucial to take small steps when it comes to adjusting to a style. Most times, bold colors are associated with prints and, even though it’s the trend, some individuals are still coming into this new found look. So, I have suggestions….
- Beginners. Pick one (1) bold color and offset it with something neutral. This can help a beginner transition into colors and prints without becoming overwhelmed with a look.
- Intermediate. Pair a pop of color with a print. For example… try pairing a leopard print button down shirt with green trousers/pants. This gives you the opportunity to test your confidence level.
- Proficient. You are definitely confident in your style. Mixing and matching prints is second nature to you. Try a black and white polka dot flare midi skirt and a blouse with stripes pattern. Those stripes can be any color of your choice. You are mixing prints with patterns and officially stepping out of your comfort zone.
Try something different this week. Trust me when I say you will definitely feel good about yourself and your style.

Fall is officially here! If you live in the south, you know all too well about this dry humidity. I’m looking forward to the weather cooling off. I’ll admit that fall is my season of choice and, I’m excited to pull out some of my favorite pieces to wear. The main thing that I love about this time of year is being able to wear a variety of classic staple pieces. The one classic that will transition into fall easily are skinny jeans. Denim can be added to any ensemble and, is definitely acceptable year round.
Like most statement pieces… Denim can be either dressed up or down and, it can work for just about any occasion. Now, I’m a casual “chic” kind of girl when it comes to denim. I usually pair it with either a blazer or a nice blouse and scarf. The look is normally completed with a pump. Well… pumps and skinny jeans are just made for each other. In my opinion… at least! I decided to change it up a bit with this look. Yeah, change is good!
Let me first start off by saying that I found these cute strappy suede flats… had to purchase them! It was the perfect choice for the look. The yellow vest gives an edgy yet sassy look, and the turquoise clutch provides that “pop” of color the outfit needs. The leopard belt adds a nice contrast that brings everything together.
This look would be perfect for brunch with the girls and/or Saturday morning errands. Either way, you are both comfortable and chic…and, this is definitely a winning combination.
As we ease into fall… remember to take time and experiment with your style. You’ll never know what you might find. It could be that “one thing” you need to complete your unique look.

I’m so grateful and blessed to see another year. 36… WOW! My confidence has grown over the past few years. I’m able to define my unique style and, show it off through my personality with ease. Now, I’ll be honest, it hasn’t always been this easy. Confidence involves risk taking which takes time and effort. Yep, risk, it’s vital when it comes to progressing with your style.
Your look says a lot about you. How you think…feel…. it sets the mood for who you really are. This is why being bold and stepping out of your comfort zone is so important. If you never step out and take that risk…well, how, can you truly define your style? How could you really know your likes and dislikes? Take the time to learn YOU!
It’s ok to move outside the box and unleash your unique look. I’m challenging you to a bold test this week.
1. A new color. Try wearing a color you usually don’t reach for. Make sure you pair it with something you are comfortable with. This will make the transition go more smoothly.
2. Switch it up. If you usually wear pants…. try a skirt. This gives you the chance to step out and be bold. Trust me… this will boost your confidence level.
3. Inspired. Check out websites, magazines, thrifty/consignment stores… and, get inspired! Identify a look or style that interest you. Take that and create your own unique style.
The important thing is that you try. No one expects you to discover your new found style all in one day. Remember… risks take time and effort. Don’t worry your confidence will thank you later.

Here in Alabama… these hot days call for Sasee Maxi dresses. I love to be comfortable on the weekends after a long week of working. I’m sure you all feel me? 🙂 Maxi dresses give you the chance to be stylish yet comfortable while doing your daily tasks. I know that this would be considered a fashionable trend, but it’s an item that you can definitely bring out your style with the right selection and accessories. I’m so happy I gave this maxi a second look!
Let’s just pause right here for a second… I’m loving how this maxi flows. It shows off my waist line in a flattering way. Girl, I’ve been working out at the gym and I’m not ashamed to show it. LOL! The dress is simple yet the accessories complete outfit. You take an black and white stripe maxi dress and pair it with red flats… you have a winning combination on your hands. The necklace is a bit dressy but it brings sassiness to the look. Can I get an Oh Yea, for the frame shaped earrings? The ensemble is just perfect!

I know we have spoken several times about taking risks. Well… It’s nothing to it.. but to do it. ☺️ There’s no better way to step out of your comfort zone other than through prints. Prints gives you the chance to show off your personality. Your unique look is tested and your style is put on the line. But, it’s all for a good cause.
This look is definitely sassy yet chic. My personality screams fierce! Whenever you look good… you feel good. And, it’s an added bonus when your style doesn’t mirror the looks of others. How cool is that? Let’s challenge ourselves to really take the time to define our style. Just defining…. perfecting it and rocking with confidence…. well, that will come with time!
